In the great hall of the castle Sommeregg, on approximately 800m² is Central Europe’s largest museum of torture. More than 100 authentic exhibits, extended by scientifically elaborated texts decribe the legal history of the Middle Ages at the early modern period. The modern presentation is very instructive but also gives you a pleasant shudder.
The special exhibition of Amnesty International shows the visitor that the torture is still an open chapter in humanity.
