Art and culture lie at the very heart of Munich’s ‘Werksviertel’ district. The whiteBOX project occupies 2,000 square-metres of the building known as ‘Werk 3’, providing ample space for artist studios and an approximately 400 m2 exhibition and event location. More than 30 visual artists of all disciplines now ply their creative trade in the Werksviertel.

The primary focus of the exhibition and event programme lies on interdisciplinary forms of expression which combine the street art, new media art and pop culture genres with experimental, contemporary forms of expression, as well as exploring the links between sound art, visual art and performance.

The whiteBOX is not a museum. The whiteBOX is where art comes to life – every day.
